6. GRAMMAR: Past and future tenses


Welcome everyone to our first post related to GRAMMAR! 
In additon to show you our class projects, we would like to help you to learn more about different tools or ways to both teach and lear english grammar. Today is the perfect day to meet past simple, past continuous and simple future tenses.

PAST SIMPLE

The "Past simple" describes an action that has already ended.

- When I was young I lived in Madrid (now I live in Barcelona)

PAST CONTINOUS

The "Past continuous" indicates an accion that was taking place in the past that has not ended.

- When the mother came home her husband was playing with the kids.



WATCH OUT! Sometimes, two acions that took place at the same time in the past are described in the sentence. In this case, the "Past simple" is used for the action that ended in the past and the "Past continuous" for the one that was taking place at that time.

- Yesterday evening when you called me I was having a shower.
- When my parents arrived home the children were watching TV.

SIMPLE FUTURE

This tense describes actions that will take place in the future.

- Oh! it is very late, I will go back home.
- It is very hot, I won't close the window.
