13. ONLINE LECTURES AND TEAMWORK

Image
As we all know, events and especially classes are mainly in a virtual way. Particularly, our 3 member team would have liked to attend physically to lectures but this situation requires patience and isolation.  It is well-known that going to college can be very funny, dynamic and the overall learning most significative even though virtual modality can also give us some extras, isn't it? Some pros of it could be: - More comfort because we stay at home to meet. - We use time efficiently. - We practice using ICT's. - We have become more responsible for tasks and autonomous. Working in online teams is not easy when you do not get used to it but... Do Our efforts have been enough? So the answer is YES! In our case, we haven't met before but currently, we had learned to complement and understand each other. In the beginning, was not easy but we had accomplished the mission!   This is one of the last posts, we will be talking about Moodle, about what has meant for us and if we find it useful. But first, let's dig into what is exactly moodle. Moodle was created by Martin Dougiamas in 2002 and was designed to provide educators and learners with an open free platform to create and deliver personalized learning environments. Today Moodle is one of the basic systems of online learning in many educative institutions across the globe. Something that people usually don't know is that the word Moodle stands for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment.  But now let's talk a bit about our thoughts. First of all, Moodle has been our theoretical and practical support. Trough it we learned the course contents and practised certain skills. But sometimes was kind of repetitive and boring (a lot of videos, extremely large exercises with modal verbs, and complicated videos with hidden information that we had to repeat several times.

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to a new post related to education around the world. Ready? Today, we want to talk you about a video that we have seen in class this week. This video, focuses its attention on explaining the differences between a teacher in the US and another in Finland or anywhere else in the world. After having seen the video, we found it very interesting to summarize the most important ideas. We will organize them into point so that it is better to understand. Before starting, we leave you the link to the video. NO SPOILERS! ASPECTS THAT MAKE TEACHERS LEAVE THE CLASSROOMS IN EEUU: 1. TEACHERS SHORTAGE The offer to hire new teachers is decreasing as the number of students in public schools continues increasing. This difference results in a worrying shortage of teachers in America's high school classrooms.  2. HOURS OF WORK In the US, teachers work an average of 9 hours and a quarter per day, one hour more than the average in other countries in the world. This ca...

8. GRAMMAR: CONDITIONALS

Image
Hey, what's up readers! Our today's topic is going to be a bit of grammar: CONDITIONALS. We know some of you struggle sometimes with this kind of structures, but we are going to explain them easily so you can understand. Basically, exists 4 types of conditionals named from 0 to 3. But fist fo all, what the heck is a conditional structure? Well, we mostly use conditionals to express a hypothetic action based in the future with several grades of probabilities. If the action is more probable, it will be closer to the 0 conditional, although if it is less probable, this will be written in the 3rd conditional structure (see forward). Also, it is essential to understand that all conditionals are mostly recognizable because of the "if" particle. This word plays the importance of the first part. Here we will find a structure like this: 1. IF + SUBJECT + TENSE 1 + (COMPLEMENTS) *(this part can be considered the condition). e.g. If something happens to me... While in the secon...

Welcome back again dear readers! We hope you stay safe and well :)  Our next move will take us to show you a brand new project that will amaze you! Happily, we adapted ourselves to this tool and we made an excellent work. In this case, the topic of the task is the seasons.                                         If we think deeply, we will realise that 24/7 we argue about the weather, the clothing that we will wear depending on that, even the food that we will consume on our daily basis depending on the season. For that reason, we think that the seasons are a huge and fundamental theme for the students on which we cannot only relate the seasons themselves but also other topics like clo...
